  Zeta Tau Alpha Takes the Crown Again

  Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity renewed its sponsorship of HazingPrevention.Org (HPO) at the Crown Level for 2011-2012. For the second year in the row, the fraternity is supporting HPO with a $10,000 sponsorship. HPO established the Crown Level last year when Zeta Tau Alpha announced that they would contribute $10,000 – the largest sponsorship since HPO’s founding. The organization is also in the third year of a five-year commitment to provide a cash award of $10,000 to the recipient of the Zeta Tau Alpha Award for Innovation in Campus Hazing Prevention and Education. Zeta Tau Alpha was founded in 1898 at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, VA, and has 152 active collegiate chapters and more than 205,000 members worldwide.

  Sigma Sigma Sigma Ramps Up to the Diamond Level

  Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority (Tri Sigma) chose Diamond over Platinum this year, becoming the second largest National Sponsor in HazingPrevention.Org history with a $7,500 sponsorship. Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded in 1898 at Longwood University in Farmville, VA. Tri Sigma strives to prepare women for life after college by advocating bonds of friendship, developing strong character in its members, and promoting the highest standards of conduct. Currently, there are over 100,000 members and over 200 alumnae and collegiate chapters. The Sorority supports play therapy for hospitalized children and assists in providing playrooms for hospitalized children in Chapel Hill, NC and Dallas, TX through funds contributed to the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation.

  Five Greek National Organizations Go Platinum

  Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma and Sigma Nu return in 2011-2012 as Platinum Sponsors of HPO. At this year’s launch, these organizations are joined by two first-time sponsors of HPO, coming in at the Platinum Level. HPO applauds its returning sponsors and welcomes its new ones, Alpha Tau Omega and Pi Kappa Alpha at this level. Each of these organizations has contributed $5,000 to help HazingPrevention.Org fulfill its mission of empowering people to prevent hazing in college and university student groups.

  HPO launches its 2011-2012 year with its longest list of sponsors yet – 27 and growing. Although HPO will continue to recruit sponsors throughout the year, the organization marks the first day of it, October 1, with a huge thanks to our sponsors - many of whom have supported us for years.
